Are you ready to swap the city pavement for sharp island limestone? If you’re looking for an adrenaline-fueled way to experience the Zadar Archipelago, look no further than Škraping.

This legendary international trekking and trail race takes place on the rugged shores of Pašman Island, challenging participants to navigate the “škrape” (sharp coastal rocks) that give the event its name. Whether you are a hardcore ultra-marathoner or a family looking for a scenic jog, Škraping is the perfect excuse to visit the charming village of Tkon this spring.

📅 Save the Date: March 7, 2026

The 20th Jubilee edition of Škraping is officially set for Saturday, March 7, 2026. This year’s event carries a special humanitarian note under the slogan “Your trace in stone means safety for the youngest,” with 10% of entry fees being donated to the Zadar General Hospital maternity ward.

Choose Your Challenge

The race is divided into four distinct categories to suit every fitness level:

  • Ultra (Marathon): Approximately 45 km of pure rocky terrain for the most experienced athletes.
  • Challenger: A 25 km trekking route that balances difficulty with stunning island views.
  • Active (Đir): A 12 km trek perfect for those who want a serious workout without the full marathon distance.
  • Light (Family): A 6 km scenic jog/walk designed for families and beginners.

Pro Tip: Registrations are processed online via the Tracey Sport platform and must be completed by late February 2026.

🍽️ Taste: Authentic Island Flavors

After conquering the rocks, you’ll need to refuel. Tkon is famous for its “Croatian Island Product” label, ensuring everything you eat is as authentic as it gets.

  • Island Products Fair: Don’t miss the fair held during the race weekend in Tkon. It’s the best place to sample local olive oils, honey, liqueurs, and jams.
  • Top Dining Spots: * Konoba Klanac: A local favorite in Tkon for traditional Dalmatian seafood.
    • Restaurant Sovinje: Known for its fantastic location and local specialties.
    • Konoba Kiss: Located in nearby Soline Bay, offering incredible waterfront views and moderate prices.

🏔️ Explore: Beyond the Finish Line

Pašman Island is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. While you’re here for the race, take some time to explore these local gems:

  • Ćokovac Monastery: Hike up to the hill of Ćokovac to visit the Benedictine Monastery of St. Cosmas and Damian. It offers some of the most “jaw-dropping” views in the entire Zadar Region.
  • Veliki Bokolj: The island’s highest peak features a lookout point reachable by foot or bike, offering a 360-degree panorama of the Kornati National Park and the Velebit mountains.
  • Pustograd: Explore the ruins of a 6th-century Byzantine fortress on the southern side of the island.

🛌 Sleep: Where to Stay

Accommodation in Tkon ranges from cozy seaside apartments to unique “Robinson-style” holiday homes for those who want to truly disconnect.

  • Apartments by the sea Tkon: Many local apartments offer direct beachfront access and stunning views of the Pašman Channel.
  • Mobile Homes: Check out Mobile Homes Plažine or Bartovica for a modern, nature-focused stay right by the sandy beaches.
