The most awaited time of the year has arrived on the Island of Pag! From January 10th to February 17th, the historic streets of Pag transform into a vibrant stage of color, laughter, and centuries-old tradition. The Pag Winter Carnival is more than just a party—it’s the heartbeat of the island, a time when history meets high-energy fun.
The Tradition of the “Sociji” The festivities kick off on January 10th at the Rector’s Palace (Knežev dvor). This is where the tradition of the Sociji takes center stage, alongside the prestigious selection of the Carnival Prince. It is a moment of local pride and the official signal to put on your masks!
Saturday Nights at II Magazin Every Saturday, the historic II Magazin (Salt Warehouse) becomes the epicenter of nightlife. With the resident Duo Kumpanji and a lineup of Croatia’s biggest stars—from the high energy of Jole to the romantic tunes of Ivica Sikirić Ićo—the “Maškarani tanci” (Masquerade Dances) are legendary.
Family Fun & The Grand Finale Carnival is for everyone! Special Sundays are reserved for the little ones, featuring magicians and children’s parades. The festivities culminate in a three-day “Grand Finale” at the main square (Pijaca) from February 15th to 17th, ending with the symbolic burning of the “Marko” to wash away the troubles of the past year.
